The S&W .32 Short is a cartridge designed for use in pocket and personal defense revolvers. It was introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1878 and was widely used in small-caliber revolvers throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The cartridge fires a lead bullet weighing between 60 and 90 grains at a moderate velocity of around 700 feet per second. While it is not as powerful as larger rounds like the .38 Special, the .32 Short offered a small, lightweight, and easily concealable option for personal defense. Today, the S&W .32 Short is considered obsolete and is not commonly used in modern firearms.
